Today we woke up at 6.30am because J need to go to Harbourfront for some paperwork. He found a job as a cleaner but the employer need him to submit some documents. He was supposed to reach at 9.30am but we dozed off after breakfast and woke up at 9am. I had kimchi noodles for breakfast while J had Shoyu Ramen. We still made our way to Harbourfront and we were lucky that the lady in-charge was available. She was friendly and offered us snacks and drinks. I ate some chocolate oat cookies while J had chocolate oat cookies, hot milo and bananas. J borrowed $50 from his mum and promised to return her the money when our funds come in. The $50 will be for food and transport when J start work. For lunch, we visited SBL for vegetarian food. The meal was very delicious and filling. After lunch, we went to do some groceries at Fairprice. We bought 5kg rice, a tray of 30 eggs, 3 packs of frozen hotdogs and 4 cans of minced pork. We will be eating these food for lunch and dinner, they can last us for around 8 days. For breakfast and supper, we will be eating instant noodles. Hopefully we will be able to eat more nutritious meals after we receive the SG60 vouchers of $600 each on 22 July.

After much thought and struggling to keep up physically, we’ve decided not to continue with the job we recently started. It was simply too demanding for our bodies, and we’ve been aching all over ever since. The muscle pain and discomfort made it clear that it wasn’t something we could sustain. This morning, we went to Bedok hawker centre for a comforting plate of nasi lemak. After breakfast, we walked around and visited a few places to check out job vacancies. J said he’s keen on one of the jobs we found, and I’m glad he’s feeling hopeful. As for me, I’ll be waiting to attend some job training, so I might be resting and not working for now. Later, we dropped by FairPrice to pick up some instant noodles. For lunch, we had the noodles at home. We are trying our best to save money where we can. I’ve also been rationing the food we already have at home so that we can stretch it until our funds come in. Right now, we only have $75 cash left, and we may need to get through the next two weeks with that. It’s not easy, but we’re doing what we can. Dinner was a simple Thai-style vermicelli. Despite everything, I felt proud today. I managed to do some dishwashing, and that small act made me feel useful. I really hope to help out more with the housework moving forward, especially so J can rest more when he starts working again. Life may feel uncertain at times, but I’m holding on to the little wins and hoping for better days ahead.

Today was our work off day. My husband J and I went to Outram Park to settle some errands, then headed for breakfast. We had roasted duck rice and tried some famous MJK pancakes at Chinatown. The new owner mentioned that they had improved the recipe, but J thinks the previous one tasted better. After that, we walked around and dropped by OG. J bought a small container of strawberry-scented slime, while I picked up an Aphmau mystery squishy. I got the mint chocolate ice cream one. We took a short break and had coffee at Han’s before heading to Daiso, FairPrice, and Uniqlo to grab a few things. For lunch, we had caifan. Since we still had some leftover baguette at home, we bought mushroom soup from Sheng Siong to go with it for dinner. Dipping the baguette into the soup was so delicious. It was a simple day, but filled with little joys. Grateful for this time together.
